Meet Bridget - Occupational Therapist & Director
(Pronouns: she/her)
Bridget qualified as an Occupational Therapist (OT) at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, in 2000. She maintains her professional OT registration in the UK, USA and South Africa. She has worked across acute and community settings throughout the pathway of recovery for various health conditions.
Her interests in business processes, staff development and business systems led to her completing her MBA at Liverpool University, UK, in 2008.
Bridget maintains a private caseload within the south-east of England, continues to offer international clinical education and supports her local NHS still. She also offers supervision to other allied health professionals.
She was the clinical educator for Spex Ltd (NZ) on their Spex seating technology for 3.5 years within their international markets and has produced a number of publications relating to seating and posture care management.Â
She is a member of the Rotary World Club Disability Advocates group and volunteers southeast regional contact for the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Specialist Section - Independent Practice (RCOTSS-IP). She now also holds the post of UK Regional Contact Lead for RCOTSS-IP on the national executive committee.Â
Bridget maintains knowledge relating to physical and cognitive rehabilitation to ensure that skills are current to support clients all the way through their journey following injury or diagnosis.
Her desire to advocate for her clients led to the founding of âSPOTlightsâ - it is the global community membership platform that now includes the following special interest groups:

Bridget grew up on a farm in South Africa. She had pet sheep, dogs and a zebra.
She now lives in the UK and lives her best life by participating in various interests and professional goals. She is an experimental baker, a scuba diver, a constant learner, a clinical educator, a gardener and a perpetual tourist!
Bridget enjoys working with people from all walks of life, appreciating different backgrounds including religion, ethnicity, LGBTQ+, cultural and personal factors. . She believes that shared perspectives, and respect help everyone to thrive, not just survive.Â
